Parasite and Vector
The female Anopheles mosquito carries the plasmodium parasite that causes malaria. Details about the mosquito’s breeding and feeding habits as well as its physiology are very important to malaria control as they give us windows into possible vector control methods. Below is a link to a detailed PowerPoint presentation on mosquito entomology prepared by Dr. Michael Macdonald of the NMCC.
