Background
The idea of the Foundation was born in August 2002 at the Ndola Fresh
Air workshop. The workshop was attended by over 200 participants from
NGOs, government, and private sectors.
From inception, the Secretariat has been independently fund managed
with the Secretariat Coordinator participating in NMCC/NMCP theme
groups. World Vision has provided administrative and financial
oversight.
As of 18 November 2003, the secretariat became registered as Zambia
Malaria Foundation and a Board of Directors has been put in place.
Structure and Function of the Board
The Chairperson of the Board is selected from among the members. The
chair and the board members will work with ZMF to develop a strategic
plan and approve the annual work plan. The following are the elected
board members and office bearers.
